PhotoShop Shatter Text: For this demo we had to make some text and make it look like it had shattered from an explosion from behind. To do this we made a new file in photoshop, then pressed alt return to make the background black, then took the text tool and typed a word, i typed KITTEHS, we then used Drop shadow on the text and bevel and embossed it. We then Rasterized the text layer, and used the polygonal lasso tool, drawing small triangles with it to
give the text a shattered look.
Next we used the lasso tool to draw a rough circle in the middle of our text, we feathered it and the rendered clouds, then we used radial blur, and changed the settings to zoom. Next we selected the pixels of the text and filled it 50% gray, then selected radial blur again. Next we merged the clouds layer with the text layer and changed the hue/saturation to get the colour we desired. And finally we used the text tool to write something beneath the main text.
