I used a program on the internet called wordle to create an image with words, i then took the image and imported it into photoshop where i used the the 3D tool to make it 3D.
Competition Research:
I found a photoshop competition on the internet at a site called http://www.pxleyes.com/ there was numerous competitions but i chose one called "water bottle photoshop contest" they provided me with an image which i could manipulate in any way i wanted.
This is the image we were given.
And this is my complete photoshop poster.
All i did was take some pictures of samon from google, i erased the background the samon image had with the eraser tool, i then lowered the opacity on the layer and placed them "in" the bottle, i left one of the samon outside the bottle to make it look like they were trying to escape. I then took an image of a bear from google and warped it to fit over the label on the bottle, and finally i wrote "caution intended for bears only" over the bear image.
Snooker Ball demo:

For this demo we had to make a snooker ball in photoshop, to do this we first used the gradient tool to make a background, we then used the eliptical marquee tool to create a circle, we then changed the circle to a colour of our choice. Next we used the dodge tool to brighten the top area of the circle, the we used the burn tool to make the bottom area darker. Next we selected the pixels of the circle and made a new layer we we used the the paint can tool to fill the selected area black then used guassian blur and lowered the opacity to make it look like a shadow, we adjusted the angle and possition of the shadow with perspective to make it fit. Next we used the eliptical marquee tool again to make a circle in the midle of our snooker ball with to smaller circles on either side joining them together to make one image. Next we masked the snookerball layer and turned it white, the image in the middle keeping its colour, then we took the paint brush tool and turned the opacity down, we used the paintbrush tool to brin the colour back into our snookerball making the light areas lighter and the dark areas darker. We then used the paint brush tool to make little circles of white at the top left area of the snooker ball to give it a shine. Next we used the eliptical marquee tool again to make a circle in the middle of the snooker ball, we filled it with white and then used the paintbrush tool with a gray colour, turning down the opacity to make a shadow on the bottom of our white circle and used the blur tool to make it blend, we then used the text tool to place a number of our choice in the middle of the circle.
Car and sky pen tool demo:
For this demo we were given a picture of a car and the sky, we used the pen tool to trace an outline of the car, then we used the paintbrush tool to make the sky visible in the area we wanted.
Four Artists research:
Oliver Ottner: http://www.naturemorphosis.com/
He has been said to be a master of photoshop and though i like his work and it is very well done the only tools he uses are blending tools, that's all he does so even though his work is good he i don't consider him a master of photoshop. One of my personal favorites has to be the lizard or maybe snake lady blend, it's really stylish and the detail on her eye is beautiful. Regrettably i couldn't get the image as the site wouldn't allow it but i pasted the link next to his name.
Dave DeVries:
This guy is incredible he takes pictures of monsters that children have drawn and make them really look like monsters using photoshop, i think that in itself is a really good idea, the mind of a child is innocent so they're more likely to create something really strange, here are a few examples of his work.
NOAH - KH:
NOAH is an artist i found on deviant art, i think his work is incredible its all done on photoshop and its all drawn with a tablet, no photos or images are used just pure drawing skills here is a piece of his work:
I love everything about this image, the way the trees are drawn, looking ancient and beautiful, the way he has blended in the tree monster, making it look as though its protecting the other trees, the small human on one of the branches giving the rest of the image a huge scale, the colour and the light making everything look healthy and vibrant.
Lezard demo:
For this demo we merged two animals together using the head of a hippo and the body of a lizard, to do this we placed both images of the lizard and the hippo into Photoshop, we then resized the image of the hippo head to the same size of the lizards head and placed it in the same place, we then moved the layer with the hippo above the layer with the lizard abd changed the colour balance using the previous layer (now the layer with the lizard on it) to create a clipping mask, changing the RGB to the same colour as the lizard (Red +32, Green +82, Blue -91).
Next we created a mask on the hippo layer and used the brush tool to erase part of the hippos neck that stuck out to make it fit. Then we changed the hardness of the brush to 0 and cleaned up all the parts of the hippo that stuck out. Next we created a new layer with another clipping mask and used the stamp tool to place some of the scales from the lizard on the hippo head. We then clicked on the hippo layer and changed the levels of it to 0.75 and 178. Next we made a mask layer on the colour balance layer and use the brush tool to change the colour of the hippos mouth back to the way it was before we turned it green. We then used the stamp tool again to copy the background and place it over the parts of the lizards mouth that were sticking out. We then used a mask around the hippos head and changed the brightness and contrast to blend it more. And finally we used the brush tool to change the eye of the hippo to its origonal colour.
Rhino/Leopard demo:
For this demo we took the picture of a leopard and rhino from moodle and pasted them into photoshop, we placed the leopard layer on top of the rhino layer and resized it to fit the body of the rhino as best as possible, we then used the liquify tool to bend the leopard around the rhinos body making the leopards spots look as though they were on the rhino, we then changed the leopard layer to multiply and created a brightness/contrast layer using the leopard layer as a clipping mask, we changed the brightness to 40 and the contrast to 4. Next we created a mask on the leopard layer and used the brush tool to get rid of the parts of the leopard that we didnt need, we then used the stamp tool to copy and paste parts of the leopard skin onto the legs of the rhino making sure that there was no spots on the very bottom of its feet, we then used the brush tool again lowering the opacity to 20 and then going over the face and legs of the rhino to make it look worn and old. Finnaly we erased the spots around the eyes and part of the mouth.

3D glasses demo:
For this demo we took an image of some piano keys and pasted it into photoshop twice so we had two of the same image, we then ajusted the curve levels to make one blue and one red, we then changed the layer settings to screen and move the blue one slightly to the left so the red showed through.
Woman leaf demo:
For thsi demo we took an image of a woman and a leaf from moodle and pasted then into photoshop, we then placed the leaf so it was covering half of the womans face and changed the layer settings to multiply, we then put a mask on the leaf layer and used the brush tool to erase the parts of the leaf that were covering the eyes, mouth and nostrils. Finally we created a new layer filling it with 50 percent grey and changing the layer settings to soft light, we then used the brush tool to create a shadow under thr right side of the womans chin and lowered the opacity.
Photoshop Comp:
For this competition we were given an image of an egg floating above a cup. What i did was, i took a picture of a koala and masked its face onto the egg i then took the image of a bamboo stalk and placed it into the cup.
Photoshop comp:
For this comp i was really grasping for straws, i had no idea what to do for it, but the name of the original photo was dream clock so i used the stamp tool to multiply the clock to give it a dreamy look, i also used a brush preset the looked like an explosion and plastered that around and finnaly i used a filter to blend the whole thing.
Photoshop competetion:
For this comp we were given a picture of a church door. I pasted the image of the church door into photoshop and changed the hue/saturaition so it became blue, i then created a text layer and typed the letter S in the font rage italic enlarging it so it fit the across from one end of the church door to the other, i then flattened it together and dupilicated the layer, i then rotated the copy horzontally and placed it next to the original, i flattened it again and duplicated it once more rotating it vertically and placing it under the orginal. FInally i once again flattened the image and dupilicated ot once ore placeing it next to the original.
